You don’t realize how spoiled we are until something as simple as the power goes out. This morning I was sitting at home and thanks to the ice storm, everything went dark. At that point it crossed my mind, what are we going to do. I can’t check email, can’t wash or dry clothes, I can’t even finish getting ready for school. Thank goodness my palm pilot was charged so I could play games! Unfortunately there are things we need when the power goes out like heat and refrigeration, but there are ways to come up with alternatives. I then thought how selfish I was wishing I had power. What about people in less fortunate countries who don’t have homes or even water to drink.
